Today I bit the bullet and bought an iPod. The new 60GB video iPod, capable of holding a zillion songs, photos and the latest episode of Desperate Housewives.

I’ve spent the better part of this evening importing my CD library into iTunes. But the really cool part to me is the podcasts. And with these new video capable iPods, the video Podcasts. So I’ve been searching iTunes and Google for mountain biking podcasts and especially video Podcasts. Here are a couple noteable ones.

West Coast Style Mountain Biking Instructional Series

Episode 1 is Freeride Basics. No other episodes in iTunes, so I wonder if this is a new podcast. The video is about 10 minutes long and very well produced. Great cinematography and music. So good in fact that I wonder if it’s not a DVD that someone has ripped and posted to a podcast. Hmmmmm. It’s an instructional video though, hosted by accomplished mountain bike racers and instructors. Well worth the download and time to watch.

Gearnoise is a well done audio only podcast that premiered 10/12/2005. I’ve subscribed at episode 4 which includes some good info for riders anywhere.

Since the snow is piling up here in northern Illinois, it’s about time to put the slicks on the hardtail and bring it in to ride the rollers. These podcasts will make the booring roller rides far more bearable.
